Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts (born 28 September 1968) is the British actress. When her family relocated to Australia in the early 1980s, she made her film debut there in the drama For Love Alone (1986) followed by appearances in three television shows, Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (1991), as well as Home and Away (1991) and in the film Flirting (1991). After moving to the United States, Watts initially was not a successful actress, performing in small-scale movies until she starred in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an aspiring actress. She gained international recognition by playing the character. Watts played the role of a journalist suffering from depression in The Ring, a horror film that was remade. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as a grieving mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). Watts continued to climb in fame with her performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as along with Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). Watts was also nominated for the Academy Award as Best Actress for her performance in The Impossible (2012). She was in films like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) and While We're Young (2015). Watts also continued to play in blockbusters and appeared in the Divergent franchise (2015-2016).
